Giles acquires Crosbie & Jack to strengthen Scottish operation

Leading independent broker Giles Insurance Brokers has strengthened its Scottish operation with the acquisition of Falkirk-based Crosbie & Jack.

Crosbie & Jack is one of the largest independent brokers in Scotland, with commercial specialisms including building trade, fleet, contractors, manufacturing, risk management and licensed and leisure industries.

The company is a family-run business established 40 years ago and controls approximately £20 million in premium income.  It employs over 60 staff across its four offices in Falkirk, Stirling, Aberdeen and Glasgow. Michael Quinn, Group Managing Director of Giles, said: “Crosbie & Jack is one of the strongest-performing independent brokers headquartered in Scotland and we are delighted it will be coming under the Giles umbrella. “This acquisition complements and strengthens our strategic base in Scotland placing us at the very forefront of the industry north of the border. “I am delighted to welcome Gordon and his team to the Giles group and look forward to their contribution to the ongoing Giles success story.”

Principal Gordon Crosbie will remain with the company as a Regional Managing Director responsible for Giles East of Scotland operation. Gordon Crosbie added: “This deal will see our clients benefit from being serviced by a growing, like-minded, customer-focused UK broker, which shares similar values to Crosbie & Jack. “Like Crosbie & Jack, Giles is headquartered in Scotland and this gives us the ideal platform for retaining and growing our Scottish business. “We look forward to working with Giles and hope we can continue to grow our client base through the hard work and dedication of the team.”
